Restaurant chain Domino’s has a special treat for winning esports teams at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games — a decade worth of pizzas.
Teams who bag medals at the SEA Games 2019 will get one regular pizza per week for a duration of time based on awarded medals. Gold medalists will get a 10-year supply of pizza, silver medalists get five years, and bronze medalists will be fed for two years.
The offer is aimed at getting the Malaysian esports industry the recognition it deserves, said Linda Hassan, Domino Malaysia’s senior vice president. It will help encourage esports players to give it their best shot at the upcoming SEA Games.
“Pizzas are gamers’ best friend. We are taking the opportunity to provide support to a market segment that is connected to our brand,” said Hassanin an interview with Marketing Interactive.
The 2019 Southeast Asian Games will start on November 30, with esports included as a medal event for the first time.
