The 2019 Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup will run from July to October this year, and will be the inaugural run of the brand’s growing series of esports tournaments in Asia.

The tournament will feature League of Legends (LoL) and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) as the main games.

Taiwan Excellence also stages esports competitions in India and Malaysia. With its first Philippine tournament, the organization aims to match Taiwan’s electronics prowess with top Filipino gaming talent.

Tournament registration opens on June 15, with the competitions scheduled as follows:

Elimination rounds

  • CS:GO – July 6, 13, 20, and 27
  • LoL – August 3,10, 17, and 24

Inter-branch matches

  • CS:GO – September 14
  • LoL – September 24

The grand finals will be held on October 4 to 5 at The Block, SM North EDSA, Quezon City. Up to 2,000 Filipino gamers are expected to participate and compete for a prize pool amounting to PHP360,000 (US$7,000).

Taiwan Excellence is an organization that recognizes outstanding achievements in innovation and value products designed and manufactured in Taiwan. Through Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan Excellence Awards are given out each year to top-performing Taiwanese companies.

Leading brands in the gaming scene such as Asus, Gigabyte, Kingmax, MSI, and Transcend are among the recipients of the Taiwan Excellence Awards.
