In Chapter 3, all Smiling Critters were confirmed dead at the end. It was also confirmed that their supposed leader, CatNap, had been operating under The Prototype’s influence all along.
While these questions were answered, no one really knows where the story is going or what role Poppy even plays. That suggests that Poppy Playtime is far from ending, and fans couldn’t be happier.
Now, after eight months, Mob Entertainment has broken the silence, dropping a chilling new teaser for Chapter 4.
When is Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 release date?
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is slated for a January 2025 release on PC. Given Mob’s typical release pattern, console versions are expected to follow several months later. If Chapter 3’s release is anything to go by, Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 should be released on consoles in September 2025.
Chapter 3 was themed around a mysterious nightmare-inducing Poppy gas, introducing the concept of masks into the game. New locations were opened to players, but unfortunately, story-related questions were left unanswered.
If anything, it only led to more questions about the role of Ollie and whether The Prototype was a good guy all along. It’s safe to say that Chapter 3 didn’t help resolve the lore.
The latest teaser for Chapter 4 seems even more confusing, suggesting that another Smiling Critters character is still alive.
More details about this mysterious sheep would likely be revealed on the Interactable ARG website, which Mob Entertainment shut down in December 2023 as the Chapter 3 storyline concluded.
