Justin “JWong” Wong is teaming up with GameStop to share his expertise with younger players.

The collaboration will result in a 45-minute series of short clips that focus on Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter 5, and Tekken 7 techniques.

For JWong, creating these tutorial videos is his way of helping the gaming community become more familiar with the complexities and nuances of the various fighting games being played today.

The content will be easy to digest and will “not require people to rewatch it more than one time,” he explained in an interview with ESPN.

JWong’s name is synonymous with the fighting game genre, having been a prolific player and perennial champion since the early 2000s. He is regarded as the G.O.A.T. as far as American fighting game players go.

The Chinese-American pro currently holds the record for most Evolution Championship Series titles to date, with nine titles already under his name.

In 2010, JWong became the first fighting games player to be signed by an esports team. He later joined Echo Fox in 2017, but left the organization in early 2019 to play independently.

GameStop’s collaboration with JWong is its first with an independent player. The retailer has also produced gaming tutorials with professional players representing Complexity, Team Envy, and OpTic Gaming.
