The ESL One Los Angeles Online North American tournament has concluded, with Evil Geniuses (EG) besting Quincy Crew, CR4ZY, and Business Associates to take the top spot and US$20,000.

Here’s a look back at the five best plays from the tournament:

5. Aui_2000 saves Bryle’s Meepo by keeping him alive

In a base siege during game one of the matchup between CR4ZY and business associates (BA), BA offlaner Braxton “Brax” Paulson on Mars found an opening against CR4ZY by catching two of their cores — including Jonathan “Bryle” De Guia’s Meepo — in his Arena of Blood ultimate.

With Bryle on low health from Brax’s initiation, the rest of BA dove deep into their opponents’ base to secure what looked like a won team fight. However, Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling on Winter Wyvern used his Cold Embrace just in time to save Bryle and help turn the fight around for his team.

4. Arteezy jukes all of CR4ZY’s heroes

In game one of the match between EG and CR4ZY, EG was looking to disengage after picking off the enemy Dragon Knight. However, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev was caught out of position in his team’s chaotic retreat, but EG’s carry deftly used Silver Edge and Spider Legs to juke four CR4ZY heroes and make a clean escape.

3. MSS gets an Ultra Kill as Quincy Crew demolish CR4ZY

Sensing that they were close to securing victory over CR4ZY, Quincy Crew carry Yawar “YawaR” Hassan on Wraith King charged straight into their opponents, who scrambled to form a defensive line.

That gave Quinn “Quinn” Callahan on Storm Spirit and Arif “MSS” Anwar on Legion Commander — who ended up grabbing a Triple Kill — the opening they needed to jump in and mow down the enemy heroes, securing a team wipe and forcing the GG call from CR4ZY.

2. Cr1t- with the clutch save on Ryoya

EG’s stand-in mid laner, Eric “Ryoya” Dong on Dragon Knight, was leading his team in sieging Quincy Crew’s barracks at the middle lane late into game four of their grand finals matchup.

MSS on Mars skilfully blinked behind Ryoya and pulled him deep into their base with his Spear of Mars ability while locking the rest of EG in his Arena of Blood ultimate. However, Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen on Weaver used his hero’s Aghanim’s Scepter-buffed Time Laps ultimate on Ryoya to save him from the brink of death. MSS was able to do the same trick with his Spear of Mars on Ryoya soon after, but Cr1t saved his mid laner once again to deny Quincy Crew two huge comeback opportunities.

1. Evil Geniuses run into the Dire base and takes down the Dire Ancient

In a hotly-contested game three group stage match against business associates, EG caught their opponents completely off guard by running into their base and destroying their Ancient in seconds.
