Evil Geniuses (EG), Fighting Pepegas, and J.Storm have qualified for the first Major of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season in Chengdu through the North American (NA) qualifier.

EG’s new lineup, featuring international stars Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop and Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev, blitzed through Group A and finished with a clean 6-0 record in the qualifier Group Stage to head into the playoffs. J.Storm followed suit with a 4-2 line, with their only losses being to EG.

Meanwhile, the Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao-led Fighting Pepegas tied with Quincy Crew, a squad headlined by the brothers Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Yawar “YawaR” Hassan, at 5-1 to enter the playoffs from Group B.

The Fighting Pepegas got the better of J.Storm, 2-0, to take the first NA spot in the Major, sending the squad led by former EG carry, Clinton “Fear” Loomis, to the third-place match for the last direct invite.

Meanwhile, EG defeated the team led by their former superstar midlaner, SumaiL, 2-1, to book their ticket to Chengdu, highlighted by a 21-minute drubbing in the deciding Game 3.

J.Storm dominated Quincy Crew, 2-0, to grab the last NA spot in the Major, with Fear and his squad neutering SumaiL’s impact with well-executed facerush strats in both games. With their losses, the Hassan brothers will have to take the long way through the Dota Summit 11 Minor in order to attend the MDL Chengdu Major.

The MDL Chengdu Major will be held from November 16-24, with a US$1 million prize pool and 15,000 DPC points up for grabs. The Major will be preceded by the Dota Summit 11 Minor on November 7-10.
