The last remaining survivor of his village after a demon invasion, Stark spent much of his early life training under Eisen, the legendary warrior from the hero party that defeated the Demon King.
It wasn’t until he was much older that he joined Frieren’s party as their vanguard, his heart set on returning with tales to tell his dear mentor.

Frieren and Fern meet 17-year-old Stark for the first time in episode five, “Phantoms of the Dead”. After vanquishing the nearby Solar Dragon, he joins the party.
Stark turns 18 years old in the second half of episode 12, “A Real Hero”. He receives gifts from both Fern and Frieren to celebrate his coming of age.
During the episode, he tells Fern of his youth and fans witness a much younger Stark, unfortunately, no dates were specified during the flashbacks.
