Team Secret’s all-Filipino roster, which includes esports veteran Jessie “JessieVash” Cristy Cuyco is about to compete in Valorant Champions 2021, Riot Games’ first-ever Valorant world championship tournament.

In the pre-tournament press conference, JessieVash shared that he was excited to show the ‘Filipino Valorant’ playstyle at Champions, and how the team is looking forward to proving themselves against Gambit Esports.

Team Secret’s JessieVash has something to prove against Gambit Esports

Team Secret was very happy to get matched up against Gambit Esports in their first-ever international Valorant match.

He explained that since they weren’t able to attend VCT Stage 3 Masters Berlin, they will be able to experience everything they missed out on by going up against the champions of the tournament.

“It’s like them delivering the experience to us,” he explained. “To see how far we can go against the best teams right now, and get some experience we can use in our journey towards the tournament.”

Team Secret was placed in Group C along with Gambit Esports, Team Vikings, and Crazy Raccoon. Only two teams from their group will advance to the playoffs.

“We are very confident after seeing the [group stage] bracket,” said JessieVash. “We can make it to the playoffs.”

Out of all the players competing at Valorant Champions 2021, JessieVash is looking forward to going up against VCT Stage 3 Master Berlin standout, Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, who dominated the tournament with his exceptional lurk plays using Viper and Cypher.

JessieVash wants to find out how well Team Secret will be able to react to nAts’ lurk plays, and if they’ll be able to adapt to his playstyle.
