The Evo Japan 2020 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Grand Finals was a clash between Japanese pros, Seisuke “Kome” Komeda and Shuto “Shuton” Moriya.

Known as one of the best Olimar players in the world, Shuton and his Olimar went against Kome and his world-class Shulk.

Game one was an amazing showing by Shuton and his Pikmin. Equipping himself with two purple Pikmin, the strongest of its kind, Shuton had massive knock-back with all of his hits.

Although his Pikmin snipe didn’t confirm the kill, the Olimar player was able to catch Kome in a down-air with his second purple Pikmin to secure game one.

Kome had an unfortunate ending in Game 2. Although the Shulk player tied up the stocks at 1-1, he made a fatal mistake when trying to edge-guard.

With just one mis-input of an up-special, Kome fell from the stage, self-destructing and giving Shuton an easy 2-0 lead.

Kome fought harder than ever in game three. Even though Shuton got a quick lead in stocks, Kome immediately went in for a counter-attack after respawning.

As he edge-guarded Shuton, he switched into Smash mode and quickly claimed Shuton’s second stock with a well-timed back-air.

However, Shuton fought back and with just one combo, dealt around 40% damage, putting Kome well into the red.

With Kome trying to recover in neutral, Shuton took advantage and charged his down-smash, eliminating the Shulk for an ultimate finish to take the tournament title.

With the championship win, Shuton takes home the Nintendo Golden Smash Pro controller along with some Nintendo goodies given by SSBU creator Masahiro Sakurai himself.
