The Raiders are now back on top of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports!

RSG PH capped off an intense tournament run by defeating tournament favorites ECHO, 3-1, at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational 2023 (MPLI 2023) grand final, making history as the first Filipino team to win an MPLI title.

The team underwent a crucial change before the tournament, substituting rising star jungler John “Irrad” Abarquez with their former jungler from RSG MY, Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto.

ECHO secured the first slot in the grand final after defeating HomeBois 2-1 and fellow MPL PH team AP Bren 2-0 in the upper bracket.

RSG PH persevered in the lower bracket, eliminating See You Soon, HomeBois, and AP Bren to set up an MPL PH showdown with the M4 world champions.

RSG PH dominated the first match, propelled by Demonkite’s Martis, who achieved a Maniac at the nine-minute mark and concluded with an impressive 7/1/11 KDA.



ECHO evened the series in the second game with a commanding 11,000 gold lead on a 11-3 kill score in just 13 minutes of play.

Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales on Wanwan, who finished with a perfect 3/0/3 KDA, dealt the most damage for his team and amassed the most gold in the game to help his team secure the dominant victory.

The third game was a back-and-forth affair as both teams got their hands on comfort picks. As the match progressed with no clear leader. They finally converged on the Enhanced Lord at the 13-minute mark, initiating a Lord dance.

During the contest, Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo on Yu Zhong managed to catch Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Guinevere. With ECHO’s jungler out of the picture, RSG PH secured the Lord and clinched three more kills, putting them at match point.



In the final game, RSG PH displayed relentless dominance against the orcas. By the 10-minute mark, they had already led with an impressive 16-2 kill score and a 12,000 gold advantage, and ended the series in one final push on an exposed base the minute after.

In recognition of his outstanding efforts as the team’s jungler, Demonkite was named the grand final MVP.
