EVOS Legends will be competing at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC 2021) without Muhammad “Wann” Ridwan and Ihsan “Luminaire” Besarik, two of the team’s star players.

After winning the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League ID Season 7, the team qualified for MSC 2021. However, the absence of Wann and Luminaire might mean we won’t see EVOS Legends’ strongest lineup going into the much-awaited tournament.

Wann’s reason for not playing with EVOS Legends at MSC 2021

Wann was a promising player in the first week of MPL ID. He competed for one week with EVOS Legends before announcing a short break away from the competitive scene due to personal reasons.

Many fans were excited after EVOS Legends won the championship, saying Wann might return to the team due to its successful run in the tournament.

However, EVOS Legends’ coach Zeys has confirmed in his Instagram story that he still won’t be at MSC 2021.

“It’s not fair if we suddenly ask Wann to play. So please try to understand his position. If he makes a comeback, it will happen when he is very ready, ” said Zeys.

Wann also appeared on Jonathan Liandi’s Empetalks, where he shared about burnout. He stated that his drive to compete right now is not as strong as his peers in EVOS Legends.

How will Luminaire’s absence affect EVOS Legends’ chances at MSC 2021?

Luminaire is arguably the best MLBB player right now in Indonesia. His presence was greatly felt, especially in the grand final against Bigetron Alpha.

But we won’t see more of Luminaire’s abilities this time around as he confirmed on Empetalks that he has made a personal decision to skip MSC 2021.

“Honestly, I don’t have any adrenaline at all for MSC 2021. I am worried that I will be toxic to the team if they force me to play because I have no goal of winning the MSC,” Besarik said.

He also added that he does not need to prove himself anymore as he already won the M1 World Championship with EVOS Legends before.

The absence of Luminaire begs the question of who will substitute for him as the mid laner. Either REKT or Rexxy is a good substitute, but only time can tell how they’ll fill in the shoes left by one of the best mid laners in MLBB.
