Fans and casters alike were shouting during Royal Never Give Up and Top Esports’ fifth game of their 2021 LPL Spring Round 4 lower bracket playoffs series.

In between Royal Never Give Up’s two crazy backdoor attempts, Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao still managed to add yet another unbelievable solo kill highlight to his growing reel.

When his teammates were being picked on by Top Esports around the Baron pit, Xiaohu’s Lucian was at bot with the intention to push out the minion wave.

Surprising him from an unwarded bush, Bai “369” Jia-Hao’s Malphite stepped out alongside his minions. Opening with Seismic Shard, he gained movement speed and came within melee range of Lucian. Weaving Ground Slam in between auto attacks, 369 finished off his combo with Unstoppable Force, with additional empowered auto attacks from Thunderclap under Royal Never Give Up’s second inner turret.

Bouldering Lucian down to a single digit of health, even shoutcasters Jake “Hysterics” Osypenko and Indiana “Froskurinn” Black thought that he was a goner.

But Xiaohu’s mechanics once again reigned supreme. After casting Piercing Light, he created distance with Relentless Pursuit. Completely outside of Malphite’s range, he finished off his opposing top laner with a final Culling.

This is the second time he’s pulled off such a clutch 1v1 on Lucian, after Rare Atom’s top laner Dai “Cube” Yi attempted the same surprise attack using Jayce in the last week of the regular season.

Xiaohu’s Lucian went on to clutch a victory for Royal Never Give Up in this same game with an incredible backdoor.

Royal Never Give Up will take on Edward Gaming in the lower bracket semifinals on April 13 at 5 p.m. GMT+8, live on Twitch.
