Two names we have not spoken of in a long time, Kog’maw and Nunu, headline patch 10.13 as they both have received significant AP ratio buffs.
In the nerf department, Riot is dampening some overpowered meta picks — Aphelios, Ornn and Yuumi.
Here’s the full run down of winners and losers in League of Legends patch 10.13:
Q – Caustic Spittle
- Damage ratio increased from 0.5 to 0.7 ability power
R – Living Artillery
- Damage ratio increased from 0.25 to 0.35 ability power
A champion that can adopt multiple builds, these changes empower AP Kog’maw and possibly even AP on-hit Kog’maw, who benefits from items like Guisoo’s Rageblade and Nashor’s Tooth.
Since AP Kog’maw can go to mid or bot lane, this will open up options in drafts.
Q – Consume
- Damage ratio increased from 0.5 to 0.65 ability power
- Healing ratio increased from 0.7 to 0.9 ability power
R – Absolute Zero
- Shield ratio increased from 0.3/0.4/0.5 to 0.3/0.4/0.5 bonus health, 1.5 ability power
The last time Nunu was played in professional play was in LCS Summer 2019 when Team Liquid drafted a TFT Glacial comp against TSM in a regular season game that had no effect on their standings.
Jake Kevin “Xmithie” Puchero took Aftershock, went full tank, out-farmed opposing jungler Sejuani, and won.
What makes Nunu unique is Consume. Its healing ability now has an almost one-for-one ratio that is definitely going to make him viable in the jungle. The boosted shield on Absolute Zero will also help him out when he channels his ultimate.
Overall, Nunu now benefits even more from an AP bruiser build that includes Hextech Protobelt-01 and Liandry’s Torment.
Passive – Umbra Blades
- (Updated) Dobule trouble: Previously, basic attacks against enemy champions reduce Umbra Blades’ cooldown by 2 seconds. Now, basic attacks against enemy champions and monsters reduce Umbra Blades’ cooldown by 2 seconds
Nocturne only has two skills that do AoE damage: Duskbringer and Umbra Blades. The reduced cooldown on his passive means he’ll be able to proc the AoE auto attack more, and speed up his clear in the jungle.
Because Nocturne doesn’t fit into the current early game jungle meta, this change helps solo queue win rates more than pro play.
E – Zoomies
- Cost increased from 100/115/130/145/160 to 40/45/50/55/60 mana (+15% max mana)
Starting from rank two, Zoomies will cost exponentially more because the extra cost is calculated based off her max mana.
The problem with Yuumi’s non-interactive champion design is that she’s either in the meta and does perfectly well blind picked, or is completely out of it. It is hard to find a middle ground.

Q – Crescendum, the Chakram
- (Removed) Chakram reset: No longer resets the duration of Chakram on Epic Monsters
R – Moonlight Vigil
- Follow-up attack crit decreased from 50% to 20% bonus attack damage
2020’s god-tier AD carry has gotten yet another nerf, but will remain a top tier pick because Riot did not target areas which make Aphelios strong. He’s not reliant on his ultimate to excel in fights, but rather, his combination of guns.
Don’t expect him to drop out of the meta anytime soon.
Passive – Living Forge
- (Adjusted) Previously, health and mana items built in the field provide 100% of health and mana values. Now, health and mana items built in the field retain its previous health and mana percentage (returning to base still brings health and mana items back to full)
In short, this means that Ornn cannot buy health and mana items through Living Forge in lane and immediately benefit from the extra stats. Instead, the extra stats will only start being active when he recalls to base.
This also means that buying resistances in lane through Living Forge is the only stat that will benefit him immediately, which isn’t as effective.
The rationale for this is to discourage him from being easily blind picked in pro play, but it will definitely impact his solo queue win rates too.
