FlyQuest has completed its roster for the 2021 LCS season with Dignitas ADC Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen.

As a local favorite, Johnsun is lauded for his skills as a marksman but has yet to prove his worth in a proper team setting. On his 2020 debut with Dignitas, the player had an almost perfect CSPM (9.9) alongside Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and came in fourth for damage share (30.1%).

While he excelled in being a solid ADC for the team, Dignitas fell short in giving Johnsun a memorable season experience, finishing seventh in Spring and eighth in Summer. Most analysts and fans saw that the team had inconsistencies in coordination and lacked the supporting talent to go against stronger teams like TSM and Cloud9.

With his move to FlyQuest, Johnsun will be joining the likes of LCS veteran Eric “Licorice” Ritchie, Academy phenom Christian “Palafox” Palafox, and Argentinian jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Villegas. He will also have the newly promoted Academy player David “Diamond” Berube aiding him as support.

With a team filled with Worlds-experienced players like Licorice and Josedeodo, the team seems to fit well with Johnsun’s larger-than-life goals. While he wasn’t able to make an impact with Dignitas, Johnsun elaborated that he can make a difference on a team that’s been to the LCS finals twice and had a 3-3 appearance at Worlds in the last year.

“For me, winning a trophy is the first priority,” said the new ADC. “Not many teams have won a trophy; it’s primarily TL, CLG, and TSM so it’d be pretty nice to win it with a team that’s not one of those three. Going to Worlds and getting out of groups would be the second goal.”
