DragonX CEO Choi Sang In, along with Mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, and AD carry Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu have donated ₩10 million (~US$8,400) each to the Community Chest of Korea, a non-profit organization who will use the proceeds for COVID-19 coronavirus causes.

The esports organization will also donate revenue earned from merchandise sales for the month of March. This decision was made collectively by players, staff, and fans.

“We hope those who suffer by COVID-19 will get full recovery and overcome these difficult times,” wrote DRX on its Facebook page.

A week ago, GEN.G’s mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong donated 5 million Korean won (~US$4, 100) to victims of the COVID-19 coronavirus on his 21st birthday.

These donations come at a time of surging COVID-19 cases in South Korea. The number of infections has now gone beyond 5,000.

The spread of the coronavirus has also caused LCK to be postponed indefinitely. The league will go on hiatus after the end of Spring Split Round 1.
