Updated on June 22, 12:49 a.m. (GMT+8): Added official splasharts.

With the new League of Legends PvE mode comes new Anima Squad skins and Primordian skins.

The first time this Anima Squad was introduced to the Runeterra universe was in 2022 with three skin drops: Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, Battle Bunny Prime Riven, and Battle Cat Jinx.

Riot Games is now taking Anima Squad (and their nemesis) many steps further with a full-on Bullet Heaven Survivor PvE game mode that is honestly super fun to play, even more than Arena, Urf, and previous PvEs.

Can Aurora be played in the jungle? How about support? League of Legends dev team weighs in

During an exclusive press preview at Riot Games HQ that ONE Esports attended, the dev team revealed that they wanted each champion to represent an “anima concept” within this sub-universe.

Leona represents the lion, Xayah represents the bat, Illaoi represent the bear, Aurora the bunny, obviously, then there’s Yasuo, who is furry but adorns gentleman attire (think Kingsman The Secret Service). As for Yuumi? She’s a digital assistant.

There are also two Legendary Anima Squad skins featuring Seraphine, who received a lot of texturing and aerodynamic treatment to her feathered hair, and nemesis Aatrox.

Story behind Anima Squad skins and Primordian skins

Primordians are described by Riot as “the planet’s white blood cells”, precursors of future evolutionary events. Their only goal is to eliminate humanity.

Their presence has pushed humans into receding corners of the world. Groups of survivors conceal themselves in the shadows, accepting their impending doom.

In a last-ditch effort, Anima Squad takes a stand in Final City. They are an “elite task force of superpowered warriors armed with re-engineered Primordian technology” who fight for organic life.
