The second day of the ESPN Valorant Invitational group stage ended with the Apex Legends pro squad, Team Canyon, claiming the top spot in Group B after upsetting the Valorant Dev team.

Coby “dizzy” Meadows and Brandon “Aceu” Winn propelled Team Canyon to a shocking 13-4 upset over the Valorant Devs, who were previously undefeated against pro teams (including two wins over Mike “Shroud” Grzesiek’s stack of ex-CS:GO pros).

Dizzy showed off a few tricks with Raze as he used her Blast Pack ability twice to double jump in the air, which caught the Dev team by surprise. With dizzy drawing the attention of the enemy team, Aceu was then able to pick up important kills that helped Team Canyon maintain their momentum.

Team Canyon won the series as dizzy made full use of Raze’s speedy abilities to catch two more Team Dev members off guard. The Apex Legends players also won the next two matches they had against Team Battlegrounds and Team Llama to take the top spot of Group B and advance to the playoffs.

In the following game, Team Llamas managed to defeat Team Battlegrounds thanks to a sensational play from Damion “XXiF” Cook on Raze, who got a Triple Kill with a massive Showstopper ultimate.

Meanwhile, Team Dev won their next two matches against Team Llamas and Team Battlegrounds to also advance into the Playoffs.

Valorant dev and ex-CS:GO pro, Salvatore “Volcano” Garozzo, notably unveiled a neat trick with Phoenix’s Run it Back ultimate. After being detected by Sova’s Owl Drone, Volcano was about to be taken out by the Hunter’s Fury ultimate which goes through walls. However, he used his own ultimate to dodge the killing blow to stay alive.

With the group stage over, the ESPN Esports Valorant Invitational continues with the Playoffs where Team Mirage will take on Team Dev, and Team Canyon will go up against Team Heroes.

Day 3 of the ESPN Esports Valorant Invitational starts on April 23, 7:30 p.m. (GMT+8). Fans can watch the matches live on ESPN Esports Twitch channel.
