Demon Slayer, also known as Kimetsu no Yaiba, began its life as a manga series created by Koyoharu Gotouge. The first chapter debuted on February 15, 2016, within the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump.

After the manga series gained popularity, it was adapted into an anime by the Japanese animation studio Ufotable, best known for their work on Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.
