Crystal Dynamics has announced that the release of its highly anticipated Marvel’s Avengers video game will be delayed.

The game will now be available on September 4, 2020, nearly four months after its original intended release date of May 15, 2020.

The game developer emphasized its desire “to deliver the ultimate Avengers gaming experience”, and as such, will devote the extended development period to “[focus] on fine-tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.”

Marvel’s Avengers is a brawler action-adventure game that promises to be an exciting bridge between the video game community and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We were able to try a beta version of the game at GameStart Asia last year and enjoyed the wide cast of characters and each of the different playstyles they bring to the game.

However, we also felt that the game could have used more customization options to make certain heroes feel more exciting to play, and we hope that with the extra development time, Crystal Dynamics will be able to fully realize this potential.

Marvel’s Avengers will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
