With its first-ever ranked reset, the latest Legends of Runeterra patch has adjusted some of the more prevalent cards from the game’s stronger regions.

Players can also expect a whole new meta to rise up as the strong Bilgewater region has received a few nerfs.

Winners: Noxus

The deadly region of Noxus just got even deadlier with its newest buffs. Noxian champion Darius now has one more health point at level 2, making him the perfect closer for Noxus decks. Aside from Darius, Basilisk Rider gets a bump in health and Captain Farron no longer transforms your whole hand into Decimates.

  • Darius (Level 2)
    • Health: 5 → 6
  • Basilisk Rider
    • Health: 2 → 3
  • Captain Farron
    • Old Text: Play: Transform all cards in your hand into [Decimates].
    • New Text: When I’m summoned, create 3 [Decimates] in hand.

Loser: Unyielding Spirit

Demacia’s most overpowered spell has finally been nerfed due to the player base’s critical feedback. Unyielding Spirit used to be a burst spell, meaning that a player can use it anytime with no interruption. With it now being a fast spell, Ionia deck players can now easily deny it before it grants invincibility to a unit.

    • Spell Speed Burst Fast

Winners: Freljord

The freezing region of Freljord received some massive buffs to a few of its staple champions and followers. Anivia now costs less while Braum gets a significant offensive edge with his added power and text.

On top of those changes, some late-game Freljord units got a boost in viability with some minor tweaks. She Who Wanders now has regeneration while They Who Endure gets a higher price point.

For more Poro-based decks, Aurora Porealis and Poro Herder get some needed buffs to make these cute and cuddly decks more reliable.

  • Anivia
    • Cost: 7 6
  • Braum
    • Cost: 3 → 4
    • Power: 0 → 1
    • Added Text: The first time I survive damage, summon a [Mighty Poro]
  • Aurora Porealis
    • Cost: 7 → 6
  • Poro Herder
    • Cost: 4 → 2
    • Power: 3 → 2
    • Health: 4 → 3
    • Old text: When I’m summoned, draw 2 Poros if you have a Poro ally
    • New Text: When I’m summoned, draw a Poro if you have a Poro ally
  • She Who Wanders
    • Added keyword: Regeneration
  • They Who Endure
    • Cost: 6 → 7

Loser: Bilgewater

With Bilgerwater being one of the strongest regions right now, Riot has hit it with some heavy nerfs, which should force it to take a step back in the meta.

Aside from the nerfs to some key units, Bilgewater’s Plunder cards will now be labeled as Nab. With Nab, players will now take from the bottom of the enemy deck rather than the top, affecting cards such as Back Market Merchant, Pilfered Goods, and Yordle Grifter.

Though it may be a simple switch, Riot has seen that Nab cards feel less frustrating since you still draw the same cards throughout the rounds.

  • Black Market Merchant
    • HEALTH: 2 → 1
  • Dreg Dredgers
    • POWER: 2 → 1
  • New Keyword
    • Nab: Draw a non-champion card from the bottom of the enemy deck
