Activision is adding some star power to the COD franchise by collaborating with one of the biggest action film icons of all time, John Rambo.

Hints of a Call of Duty Rambo collaboration

Though not much has been said about the guest appearance, the game developers recently released a few video teasers for Warzone and Mobile.

In the teaser, we can see the army veteran fighting off some enemy soldiers with his signature bow and flaming arrows.

What’s more, just a week ago, the official COD Twitter account secretly posted about him with a Warzone Report on “SurvivorJohn#1009062”. The report shows the 80s icon playing five Warzone games for seven hours, referencing his five films.

On top of that, he also has an infinite K/D ratio, making him an undeniable superstar in any Warzone game.

Many fans are looking out for a Call of Duty Rambo operator skin. Since he has a few signature weapons in his films, we’re hoping for Rambo-inspired weapon blueprints and accessories to use in our loadout.

Why is there a Call of Duty Rambo crossover?

While this guest appearance may seem like it’s coming out of nowhere, the 80s action icon lines up with Warzone’s new 80s-inspired map of Verdansk.

For those who didn’t know, John Rambo is the gun-toting protagonist of the Rambo film franchise, which began with “First Blood” in 1982.

Call of Duty also added some hints about what the next 80s action icon could be in a clever tweet

Though it may look like a simple advertisement for duct cleaning, the post is a reference to the 1988 action film “Die Hard”.

In the film, protagonist John McClane has an iconic air duct scene after escaping a few baddies roaming around Nakatomi Plaza. Coincidence? We think not.

Call of Duty Rambo will be available Warzone, Black Ops: Cold War, and Mobile on May 20.
