Updated on February 6, 1 p.m. (GMT+8): Updated with new Season 1 end date.

With Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 in full swing, players are already looking ahead to Season 2 and a fresh new content drop.

Now, new leaks may have just given us a peek at what to expect, including a new map and Operator.

Key art also hints at an overarching Japanese theme, although the original sources have since been taken down, seemingly confirming that the leaks are legitimate.

At the same time, a separate leak also appears to show Warzone 2.0’s new Resurgence map — designed to be a smaller battleground for faster gameplay.

Here’s everything we know so far about the next season.

Season 2 will drop on February 15, when the Season 1 Battle Pass ends.

The leaks point to the return of the Castle map, which first debuted in 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War and made an appearance in last year’s Vanguard. Previous versions of the map situate it at Shuri Castle in Okinawa, Japan, with players duking it out in the castle and courtyard.

The traditional Japanese architecture marks a huge departure from the desert locales and stony fortresses of most of the game’s maps, like Taraq and Al Bagra Fortress.

A second key art banner also appears to show the Operator Ronin, who was available in 2019’s Modern Warfare.

The Operator is wielding a Samurai-esque sword, in keeping with the Japanese theme of the season.

Elsewhere, a leak of what is purportedly Warzone 2.0’s new Resurgence map shows the names of various points of interest, with a place called Castle sitting right in the middle.

This further supports the return of Castle, seeing as how battle royale map Al Mazrah already utilizes existing multiplayer maps for multiple POIs.

According to the leaked image, the smaller, 50-player map will see use in both Ground War and DMZ, potentially adding more variety to both modes.
