Updated at July 19, 11:43 p.m. (GMT+8): Added Weapon XP Tokens to the list of options

Warzone 2.0 introduces a brand new Gunsmith and weapons platform system that provides greater incentive to level up an even wider range of guns.

Each gun now unlocks a unique set of attachments, so you might have to level a different gun to get the specific attachment you want for your main weapon.

This can be challenging if you don’t own Modern Warfare 2 and do not have access to multiplayer. The good news is that there are still several ways to speed up the leveling process.

Here’s a look at the fastest ways to level up your guns.

The fastest ways to level up weapons in Warzone 2.0

Complete Secure Intel and Safecracker contracts

Al Mazrah offers various contracts that give generous amounts of XP and cash. For leveling weapons, you’ll want to complete the Intel and Safecracker contracts, marked by a question mark and safe icons respectively.

To complete the Secure Intel contract, you’ll need to find a laptop in a highlighted area on your map. Once you locate the laptop, you can interact with it to extract the hard drive. Deliver this drive to another location, insert it into a computer, and complete the data upload to finish the contract.

Safecracker contracts require you to open three safes in the vicinity. You interact with the safes to plant a C4 explosive and start a timer. Each safe drops money and loot, with additional cash and XP upon completion.

Both of these contracts will serve up plenty of XP to level your weapons — just make sure that you have the weapon you want to level in hand while completing the contracts.

Completing a string of contracts also gives you more XP for each successive one, so finishing multiple contracts in a single match can be very lucrative.

This method works for DMZ as well, although the selection of contracts is slightly different.

Purchase armor plates from Buy Stations

Buying gear at Buy Stations also gives you weapon XP for the gun in hand.

The best item for this is the armor plate — and each Buy Station is stocked with an infinite number of plates.

Once you’re flush with cash from completing contracts, you can head to a Buy Station (marked by a white shopping cart icon on the Tac-Map) and purchase armor plates.

Each plate will cost you $400 in battle royale and $250 in DMZ. Pair this method with a double XP weapon token for the best results.

Farm bots in DMZ

The sheer number of AI bots in DMZ is another good source of weapon XP. Unlike in battle royale, you can start with your preferred weapon right off the bat and get to work.

However, the one downside is that you run the risk of losing that weapon (or having it temporarily disabled if it is insured) if you fail to exfiltrate.

Use Weapon XP Tokens

If you’ve managed to collect any Weapon XP Tokens, make sure to use them on the weapons you’re trying to upgrade the fastest.

If you want to take it a step further, save some for Double XP Weekends. The Weapon XP Tokens will stack with the weekend event, giving you an ever greater amount of experience for the weapon of choice.
