Since it became a reality, fans of the popular Call of Duty franchise have been wondering, how much will the next installment, Modern Warfare 3, cost?

The reason for the speculation was that the game would be an update to MW2, rather than a full-fledged release. This was after initial reports that Modern Warfare 3 would serve as more of a holdover to allow for more time for a game developer to work on the next brand-new title.

Activision Blizzard has now put that to rest.

According to a tweet by CharlieINTEL, an Activision spokesperson has stated that “Modern Warfare III is a premium release. It will be priced accordingly at US$70 USD.”

And that’s the answer to how much will Modern Warfare 3 cost — US$70. This is par for the course for the current price of most modern AAA games being released today.

There are, of course, still going to be arguments about whether or not the Modern Warfare 3 cost is worth it with the overall sentiment toward MW2 being a bit rocky.

Regardless, 100 Thieves CEO and former professional player Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag thinks Sledgehammer is doing a lot right with Modern Warfare 3.

In addition to knowing the Modern Warfare 3 cost, we also recently got a confirmed release date. The game is set to launch on November 10 with an official reveal taking place in Warzone 2 later this month on August 17.
