Warzone Pacific Season 2 has dropped, along with a list of balance updates to weapons and attachments in the game.

This will likely lead to adjustments in the current Warzone meta and loadouts, particularly as players figure out how to play around new mechanics like the armored transport trucks, Redeploy Balloons, and Nebula V equipment.

The changes apply nerfs to guns that were widely considered among the best in the previous meta, including the Bren and MP40.

The MP40 is less effective at range in the new Warzone meta

Submachine gun Charlie, better known as the MP40, is now less powerful in long-distance engagements, making it feel more like the SMG it is.

Here’s a look at the changes:

  • Maximum Damage Range decreased to 422, down from 473
  • Mid Damage Range decreased to 600, down from 612

These changes don’t significantly hobble the gun, but they should help what was previously one of the strongest weapons in the game feel more balanced.

Some common attachments received changes as well, including the Krausnick 317mm 04B barrel and 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags. The Krausnick barrel now has decreased ADS movement and ADS speed, lower hip-fire accuracy, and slower movement speed.

It does increase bullet velocity by 20 percent, however, which means lesser bullet dropoff.

The Gorenko Mags now have a less generous fire rate increase of 17.8 percent, down from 20 percent. There is also lower Vertical Recoil Control of 22 percent, down from 25 percent.

Bren sees reduction in damage multiplier

The Bren Light Machine Gun sees one of the biggest nerfs to its capabilities, with a reduction in damage multiplier for the lower torso and both upper arms.

Here’s an overview of the changes:

  • Left Upper Arm Multiplier decreased to 1, down from 1.1
  • Lower Torso Multiplier decreased to 1, down from 1.1
  • Right Upper Arm Multiplier decreased to 1, down from 1.1

Before these tweaks, the popular LMG applied the same chest multiplier to both the lower torso and upper arms, turning the entire area into a large chest hitbox.

The changes mean that you’ll have to be a bit more precise with your shots if you don’t want your damage output to suffer, which could make longer-range fights slightly more challenging.

On top of that, the update nerfs one of the most popular barrel attachments for the LMG, the Queen’s 705mm Royal. It now decreases ADS speed by 12 percent, up from 10 percent, and adds penalties like decreased ADS movement speed, hip-fire accuracy, and movement speed.

One saving grace is that it now increases bullet velocity by 40 percent.
