On March 1, Shueisha and J.C. Staff released One Punch Man season 3’s anime poster and trailer on the anime’s official X social channel.

The poster featured the one-punch wonder with his glorious shiny bald head while wearing his iconic yellow hero suit and white cape.

Meanwhile, the trailer features the anime’s antagonist Garou, fighting against mysterious figures.

The trailer highlights Garou’s continued growth in strength, setting up another confrontation with Saitama, the series’ ultimate protagonist.

This twist offers a fresh take in the seinen genre, where typically the hero overcomes obstacles to defeat the overpowered villain.

The third season of the hit series is produced by JC Staff, the same animation studio that worked on One Punch Man season 2.

Voice actor Makoto Furukawa, who plays protagonist Saitama, and Kaito Ishikawa who voices Genos, are confirmed to reprise their roles in the series.

Series composer Tomohiro Suzuki and music composer Makoto Miyazaki, who worked on seasons 1 and 2, are back for season 3. Character designer Chikashi Kubota, alongside Shinjiro Kuroda and Ryosuke Shirakawa, are also part of the team for season 3.

Directed by Shingo Natsume and animated by Madhouse production studios, One-Punch Man season 1 debuted in 2015.

Season 2, which aired in 2019, was led by JC Staff and directed by Chikara Sakurai.

The teaser that was released on August 18, 2022, featured Saitama back-to-back with Garou, one of season two’s main villains, recognizable by his strong, sharp features. A former disciple of Bang, he was expelled and became a self-proclaimed “Hero Hunter”.

In the last episode of Season 2, Phoenix Man saves Garou from the heroes, without any real conclusion. One-Punch Man Season 3 is expected to pick up where the last season left off.

The general consensus among OPM fans is that Season 1 was superior to Season 2 due to the distinct difference in animation quality and direction. Madhouse, a Japanese animated studio founded in 1972, has produced highly acclaimed works, including X CLAMP, Chobits, Death Note, CardCaptor Sakura, and Hunter x Hunter.
