EMEA representatives G2 Esports showed what peak League of Legends looks like on the second day of the Worlds 2023 Swiss stage.
Drawn against the LPL’s 4th seed, Weibo Gaming, G2 Esports drafted a well-balanced team composition to inch closer to the Worlds 2023 Knockout Stage.

G2 Esports pulls off the best game at Worlds 2023 against Weibo Gaming
Just before the final clash, G2 had the upper hand in terms of objectives, notably because Rasmus “Caps” Winther nearly executed an unexpected backdoor maneuver on Weibo Gaming’s base at the 34-minute mark.
However, Weibo held the lead in gold, with a 1.7k gold advantage over G2, and monster buffs, obtaining all four dragons in the game.
The climactic clash in the best game at Worlds 2023 began when Weibo Gaming detected Caps’ Orianna attempting to sneak into their base to finish what he started: destroying their nexus and ending the game.
This set off a pursuit that wound through Weibo Gaming’s bot lane jungle, with all five G2 members leading the charge, deep into enemy territory.
The sequence of events started off when Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song landed a point blank Solar Flare onto Steven “Hans Sama” Liv’s Xayah, who immediately Cleansed. Down to a quarter health, he narrowly escaped with the help of Caps.
However, Wang “Light” Guang-Yu’s Kai’Sa managed to snipe him with Void Seeker, which triggered Guardian Angel.
Weibo Gaming thought they could capitalize on this opportunity, but as they ventured deeper into the jungle, they became divided into three groups, placing them at a significant disadvantage against G2 Esports.
Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik’s Yone used his ultimate ability, Fate Sealed, stunning Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok’s K’Sante and Wei “WeiWei” Bo-Han’s Vi, effectively peeling off Weibo Gaming’s tanky champions.
Hans Sama’s Xayah finished the clash with a triumphant triple kill, followed by a collective Ace from the remaining G2 Esports members.
With this remarkable victory, G2 triumphed over Weibo Gaming, advancing to the same bracket as Gen.G, JD Gaming, and LNG Esports, all of whom currently hold a 2-0 standing.
