It’s only during international tournaments like Worlds and MSI that we get the rare chance to see two legendary mid laners, T1 Faker and G2 Caps, in the same room.

These players have solidified their positions as the absolute best in their respective regions.

Ahead of Worlds 2023, the two titans reunited, sharing their thoughts and exchanging unique gifts.

G2 Esports paid a visit to the T1 headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, to meet up with the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) team.

The highlight of this meetup was a one-on-one interaction between Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Rasmus “Caps” Winther where they discussed physical exercise and touring Korea before exchanging gifts.

Faker presented Caps with an exclusive T1 merchandise: a denim jacket with the words “Faker one and only” printed on the back.

In a unique twist, Caps gave Faker a massive cactus plant as his gift, which he humorously named the “Unkillable Demon Cactus” in reference to Faker’s moniker “Unkillable Demon King.”

“It was hard to find the cactus because we had to go to five different stores,” Caps said.

While cacti aren’t truly unkillable, they are known for their remarkable resilience, thriving in arid environments due to adaptations like water-storing capacity in their thick stems or pads. These traits enable cacti to endure prolonged droughts and harsh desert conditions.

The connection between these two mid laners runs deep, for Faker served as a significant source of inspiration for Caps to begin on his professional League of Legends journey.

“He was a big inspiration to me,” he said in a previous interview. “I wanted to become good at League after seeing him at Season 3 Worlds and winning the trophy.”

Faker’s legacy as the mid laner for T1 (formerly SK Telecom T1) is marked by numerous championship victories, including three World Championship titles, whom he did with former jungler and retired coach Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong.

Caps has garnered the title of the most decorated player in the LEC, boasting an impressive 10 LEC titles at the time of writing.
