Between showing off various players jumping into MW3 for the first time, the developers joined the desk to answer questions about the next iteration in the Call of Duty series.

When asked when players can expect to go full sweat mode in ranked, Greg Reisdorf, the multiplayer creative director at Sledgehammer Games, said it won’t be available at launch.

Instead, fans can expect it to come with Season 1.5. This means it will most likely launch as part of Season 1 Reloaded, roughly two months after the first season starts, if they follow recent Call of Duty traditions.

It’s not SHG working on ranked, however, as he also stated that Treyarch is handling the ranked play portion of the game.

“Our friends at Treyarch are on the case again with ranked play. They do a fantastic job with it and we love partnering with them on it. They’re going to bring that experience, update it, modernize it from Modern Warfare 2,” he said.
