With the announcement of China getting its own separate VCT league months ago, anticipation has been high regarding which teams will get the coveted partner slots. 

Riot Games has unveiled the 10 teams in the VCT China league, with familiar and new faces alike.

While FunPlus Phoenix, Bilibili, and Edward Gaming have already made a splash on the international stage in 2023, several of these organizations are new to the Valorant ecosystem.

Valorant was released officially in China this July, and despite their relatively late entry to the scene, Chinese teams have already made waves on the international stage.

Edward Gaming was the first Chinese team to appear at an international event during Valorant Champions 2022.

At VCT LOCK//IN, FunPlus Phoenix and Edward Gaming were announced as the Chinese representatives, and while neither team qualified for the playoffs, their participation extended the tournament’s global reach.

At Masters Tokyo, EDG and their star player, Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang, took the world by storm, with the team finding 2-0 wins over the likes of T1 and NaVi, eventually placing in the top six.

At Valorant Champions 2023, both Bilibili Gaming and EDG qualified for the playoffs. Bilibili Gaming had nabbed victory over NRG, one of the best VCT Americas teams to storm into the playoffs.

They finished in the top eight, and EDG again in the top six.
