Landing a perfectly placed molly in Valorant is a crucial skill to have as a controller main.

When a molly falls on your location, you have to move if you don’t want to lose all of your health. Standing on Viper’s Snake Bite molly will even get you a vulnerable debuff, leading to even more damage taken.

Mollies are therefore useful because they can deny the enemy team from holding certain spots on the map.

But what if there was a way where you could perfectly throw your mollies without using complicated lineups? As it turns out, you can achieve this without having every single lineup on each map memorized.

Follow this easy-to-use Viper molly guide by Valorant streamer Jakub “Lothar” Szygulski.

What is a Valorant molly lineup?

Mollies in Valorant can be used in many different ways. Players can throw them while attempting to take or retake a site. By denying the enemy team strong defensive positions, they’ll be able to clear contested areas more efficiently.

Using molly lineups is also a solid post-plant play for attackers. A well-placed molly that lands precisely on the spike will keep defenders from defusing, with potential to deny them the round by running down the clock.

Mollies can also be used to prevent attackers from planting the spike. This could buy defenders enough time for their teammates to rotate to the site where the spike is being planted.

Remembering intricate lineups in Valorant will always be an advantage, but it isn’t easy memorizing specific locations on the map from where you can throw a round-winning molly.

Lothar demonstrated that all you need to land a perfect Valorant molly lineup is your minimap. Each player’s minimap in Valorant shows a circle radius that indicates how far the sound they make can be heard.

“When you aim upright and move forward, it is going to land exactly at the end of that circle,” said Lothar.

Players need to make sure the elevation level from where they’re throwing their Valorant molly lineup and the location of the planted spike is the same. Lothar also explained that this strategy will not work if a player from A Main is looking to land it to A Haven on Ascent since they don’t have the same elevation level.

Step-by-step guide for the perfect Valorant molly lineup during post plant

  1. Get far enough from the spike after it is planted
  2. Make sure you have enough airspace to arch Viper’s Snake Bite to the spike
  3. Ping the spike on the minimap
  4. Aim straight up and face where you just pinged
  5. Run forward and throw the molly right when the circle on the minimap reaches where the spike is
