The VCT Ascension 2023 winners have been decided. From the Challengers circuit, they are bound for Riot Games’ prestigious international leagues in 2024 and 2025.

To provide opportunities for teams outside the initial 30 partnered teams in the VCT 2023 season, the Pacific, Americas, and EMEA regions each organized Ascension tournaments, showcasing the top teams from each respective region.

Singaporean organization Bleed Esports was the first team to win the Ascension Pacific tournament, defeating Japanese squad SCARZ 3-0 in the grand final.

North America’s The Guard claimed the Ascension Americas trophy when they defeated M80 3-1 in the grand final.

French esports organization Gentle Mates lifted the Ascension EMEA trophy after they swept Apeks 3-0 in the grand final.

The Singaporean squad finished as the top seed in Group Omega with a 3-1 record. They won all their group stage matches — except one against Korean squad Dplus.

Bleed continued to dominate the tournament, defeating BOOM Esports 2-1 in the semifinals, followed by a 3-0 sweep against SCARZ in the grand final.



Thai star Nutchaphon “sScary” Matarat electrified his home crowd with his MVP performance in the grand final. The controller main finished with the highest ACS with 252 and best KDA with 55/28/23, according to vlr.

The Guard defeated fellow North American squad M80 to advance to VCT Americas League 2024 and 2025

Among the six teams in the Ascension Americas tournament in Brazil, The Guard and M80 were the top two teams in the competition.

The Guard blazed a trail to the grand final by winning all their group stage matches. Their unstoppable run continued as they secured a 2-0 win over M80 in the upper bracket semifinals, and a 2-1 victory over The Union in the upper bracket final.



M80 went on an 8-0 run and eliminated 00 Nation, 9z Team, and The Union in their lower bracket.

M80 struck first, winning 13-11 on Ascent. However, it was all The Guard from that point on, as they won the next three maps to become the Americas Ascension champions.


Gentle Mates defeats Apeks, qualifies for VCT EMEA League 2024 and 2025

The French team discovered their rhythm and momentum in the lower bracket. They secured a victory against SAW with a score of 2-1, which helped them find their stride. Building on this success, they went on to sweep Acend in the lower bracket final with a clean 3-0 victory.

Gentle Mates’ winning streak continued in the grand final against Apeks, where they achieved another dominant 3-0 sweep, emerging as the new VCT EMEA League team for 2024 and 2025.



Logan “logaN” Corti led Gentle Mates to victory in the grand final, finishing with a 63/33/12 KDA and an average ACS of 250 in all three maps.
