Typically played as a healer support in the game, Rafaela has only been used a handful of times in MPL Season 1 to 6. Now, she is finally back as an S-tier hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Since running a two-support lineup is popular, Rafaela has risen in popularity. She is often played as a pure support, for she has skills that slow and heal, which are highly advantageous in team fights.

But is Rafaela only useful as a support that continually sticks to her hypercarry jungler?

Todak saw potential that other teams did not, and surprised with a new innovation in MPL MY Season 7 Week 7 against Team Bosskurr.

Ciku played Rafaela in the sidelane, and equipped the Mage Emblem, Impure Rage, going for a full damage build.

Equipment wise, he bought Demon Shoes, Enchanted Talisman, Lightning Truncheon, Clock of Destiny, Divine Glaive, and Winter Truncheon.

Ciku finished the successful game with a positive 6/4/11 KDA, and limited what the opposing Hayabusa could do in team fights.

Whether this new innovation will be picked up by other MPL teams in other regions remains to be seen. At the very least, don’t be surprised if you see Rafaela in the side lane in your ranked games!
