If you have been playing a lot of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang lately, you may have noticed that Balmond has been a hot pick.

Once considered a forgotten hero, the Bloody Beast received game-changing buffs in patch 1.5.96 that made him viable in the current meta.

Just how strong is Balmond right now in the Land of Dawn? And what items should you buy on Balmond to maximize his strength? Let’s find out.

These numbers prove just how broken Balmond is right now in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Skill 2 – Cyclone Sweep

  • Cooldown decreased from 7s to 6s

Ultimate – Lethal Counter

  • Cooldown decreased from 32-24s to 28-18s

It may not look much, but these two skills with decreased cooldowns means a lot on the battlefield. For example, Cyclone Sweep lasts roughly about three seconds. With only a six second cooldown, you can basically use this skill every three seconds.

The same goes with Lethal Counter. His ultimate is basically an instant kill against heroes with low health. Having a drastically lower cooldown means it’s essentially a better version of the Battle Spell, Execute, in every crucial team fight.

What’s the best Balmond build right now on patch 1.5.96?

Balmond has a very powerful kit that can kill enemies easily and heal himself at the same time thanks to his passive, Bloodthirst. The only obstacle he faces is the cooldown of his skills.

With this in mind, it’s best to blend in a mix of damage, HP, and cooldown reduction items in his build to maximize the Bloody Beast’s potential.

Here is Balmond’s build for a standard game:

  • War Axe
  • Bloodlust Axe
  • Oracle
  • Dominance Ice

These items provide Balmond with the necessary stats to become unstoppable. If you look closely, all these items provide a 10% cooldown reduction. This decreases Cyclone Sweep’s cooldown by an additional 1 to 1.5 seconds.

Since this hero doesn’t need mana, you can now utilize Cyclone Sweep frequently to spin your way to victory.

You can switch out Oracle for Hunter Strike if you want to be more offensive, since both items provide cooldown reduction. Hunter Strike’s passive provides a movement speed buff, which works well with Balmond’s kit.

As for the boots upgrade, you can switch it up depending on the enemy lineup. Warrior Boots against a heavy physical damage lineup, and Tough Boots if the enemy composition has a lot of crowd control skills and magic damage.

In the late game, you can build Immortality for extra survivability. The important thing to note here is that cooldown reduction synergizes the best with Balmond in the current meta on patch 1.5.96.
