On top of Riot Games’ All-Star event happening from December 18 to 20, LPL has their own All-Star tournament, held annually since 2019. This year, the fans have voted for two sets of main teams and rookie teams.

The top two players in each role of the main team are:

  • Top: Suning’s Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin, LGD Gaming’s Xie “Langx” Zhen-Ying
  • Jungle: Top Esports’ Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan, Invictus Gaming’s Gao “Ning” Zhen-Ning
  • Mid: FunPlus Phoenix’s Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang, Top Esports’ Zhuo “knight” Ding
  • Bot: Top Esports’ Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo, FunPlus Phoenix’s Lin “Lwx” Wei-Xiang
  • Support: Invictus Gaming’s Wang “Baolan” Liu-Yi, Royal Never Give Up’s Shi “Ming” Sen-Ming

According to LPL’s official announcement, due to travel restrictions arising from the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, South Korean players Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok and Song “Rookie” Eui-jin of Invictus Gaming, and Kim “GimGoon” Han-saem of FunPlus Phoenix who went back home during the offseason will not be participating in the All-Star event.

As such, the third most voted player in the role will substitute them instead. There is also another rule which states that there can be no more than three players form each esports organization, so GimGoon, and Bai “369” Jia-Hao of Top Esports will be sitting this one out despite being the third and fourth most popular top laners voted by fans.

There are also rookie teams consisting of ten players:

  • Top: Suning’s Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin (again), Edward Gaming’s Huang “Xiaoxiang” Xiang
  • Jungle: Royal Never Give Up’s Li “XLB” Xiao-Long, Edward Gaming’s Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia
  • Mid: Team WE’s Jiang “Teacherma” Chen, Vici Gaming’s Deng “Forge” Jie
  • Bot: Suning’s Tang “huanfeng” Huan-Feng, Team WE’s Zhao “Jiumeng”Jia-Hao
  • Support: Top Esports’ Liang “yuyanjia” Jia-Yuan, Victory Five’s Guo “ppgod” Peng

The second highest voted jungler is Han “Peanut” Wang-ho — who is considered a rookie as 2020 was his first year in the LPL — will likewise not be able to attend due to travel constraints. He has since returned to the LCK for the 2021 season by joining Team Dynamics.

The 2020 LPL All-Star weekend will take place on December 11 and 12.
