ONE Esports and Toyota Motor Asia Pacific are ready to deliver the next big esports racing experience, once again bringing together Asia’s top Gran Turismo Sport racers for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) GT Cup ASIA 2021, taking place on October 16, 2021.
Here’s the full rundown of events taking place on race day and how to watch them.
Pre show — 6.30 p.m. (GMT+8)
Before the races kick off, make sure you tune in to the TGR GT Cup Asia 2021 pre-show, where the live panel will be breaking down the local qualifiers, interviewing the racers, and revealing the race liveries based on fan suggestions for each local team’s race car.
TGR GT Cup Asia 2021 will feature four races, each with a different track and exciting Toyota road cars and dedicated racing cars to go along with it.
The four tracks are Tokyo Expressway – East Outer Loop, Fuji International Speedway, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and Circuit de la Sarthe.
Semi Final Race Group A — 8.00 p.m. (GMT+8)
Semi Final Race Group B — 8.45 p.m. (GMT+8)
The tournament kicks off at 8.00 p.m. with Semi Final Race A, followed by Semi Final Race B at 8.45 p.m. Each Semi Final will take place on the Tokyo Expressway racing circuit, with the racers competing in the newly introduced GR Yaris.
The top five racers in each group will proceed straight into the Final Race. The remaining 11 racers will then compete in the Consolation Race for a place in the Final Race.
Consolation Race — 9.30 p.m. (GMT+8)
The remaining 6 racers from Group A and 5 racers from Group B in the Semi-Finals Race will compete in the Consolation Race at 9.30 p.m. on the renowned Fuji Speedway circuit in the GR Supra, in their last attempt to qualify for the Final Race.
The top 5 racers will get a spot in the Final Race.
Final Race – 10.15 pm (GMT+8)
The final race will start at 10.15 pm and will be broken up into two rounds:
Final Race – Round 1
This first round will take place on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The 15 racers will put their skills to the test in the recently premiered GR 86.
Final Race – Round 2
The second round will be on the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe Circuit in France, with racers racing in the Toyota TS 050 Hybrid.
