Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has been a breath of fresh air for most, but there are still some issues popping up.

The MW3 Dev Error 12744 has a few possible fixes
This one seems to be tied to the small maps like Rust or Shipment, but there seemingly hasn’t been an exact root cause of the issue found as of yet as others claim it’s related to split-screen.
Below, we’ll provide you with a few fixes you can try to get rid of Dev Error 12744 in MW3:
- Check for an update: It’s basic, but try updating your game to see if there’s been any sort of hotfix deployed to solve the problem. It’s easy enough to check, so might as well give it a shot.
- Verify game files: If you have the game on Steam, right-click Modern Warfare 3 and then press Properties. In the properties window, select Installed Files on the left bar. From there, you want to choose to Verify the Integrity of Game Files. Once it’s done, load MW3 back up and see if it worked.
- Scan and repair: On the Battle.net launcher, head to the Call of Duty section in the launcher. Click on the cogwheel next to the play button to enter the settings menu. From the menu, select scan and repair. Once it’s done, load MW3 back up and see if it worked.
- Restart your console: Whether you’re on PlayStation or Xbox, turn off and unplug your console, and then wait 60 seconds. After waiting, plug it back in and turn it back on. Try opening MW3 again and see if it worked.
- Reset your network connection: For this one, you’re going to want to completely shut down your router or modem. Once you’ve closed out of MW3, head over to your internet device and unplug it before pressing down the power button a few times or for around 10 seconds. Then plug it back in and let it boot itself back up.
- Reinstall the game: If the above doesn’t work, you should try reinstalling the game completely to see if that solves Dev Error 12744.
