From the mind of popular Japanese manga artist and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda comes Monsters 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation.
This adaptation is derived from Oda’s one-shot manga, “Monsters,” originally released in 1994, and is set to premiere on Netflix next year.

Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters: Plot and story
Monsters follows Ryuma, a samurai from Wano, a country also featured in the One Piece universe. In a world disrupted by a menacing force, Ryuma must navigate the chaos caused by a powerful dragon with the ability to bring catastrophic havoc.
Notably, this narrative is considered canon within the One Piece lore, distinguishing it from Oda’s other one-shots.
Netflix’s Monsters: Production staff and animation studio
This original net animation is helmed by Sunghoo Park, who also directed the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie and the Jujutsu Kaisen series. The animation is produced by Park’s studio, E&H Production.
Takashi Kojima, a key animator for One Piece, serves as the character designer, while Fuminao Akai from Parasyte: The Maxim is the art director. Ryoji Nagasawa, known for Vermeil in Gold, takes on the role of color designer, and Belle’s Lee Ju-Mi is the director of photography. The editing is handled by Keisuke Yanagi, known for Jujutsu Kaisen, with Akiko Fujita as the sound director.
The anime features music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi and is produced by Takeki Kobayashi, both of whom have previously worked on Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
