Professional Fortnite player Nate Hill showed his potential in the mobile MOBA scene as he bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the first Verizon 5G League of Legends: Wild Rift Invitational presented by Twitch Rivals.

The tournament split the participating players into the Blue and the Red team, both featuring guest celebrities and renowned personalities in the esports scene. Other players featured in the invitational tournament include:

  • Cesaro (WWE wrestler)
  • Chrissy Costanza (singer, songwriter, and musician)
  • Rick Fox (former NBA player)
  • William “Meteos” Hartman (League of Legends pro)
  • Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black (League of Legends pro)
  • Joe Manganiello (actor)
  • Zedd (DJ and producer)
  • Emmalee “EMUHLEET” Garrido (CS:GO pro)
  • Yousef “FaZe Apex” Abdelfattah (FaZe Clan co-founder and owner)

The invitational followed a standard 5v5 format for three rounds. Members of the teams get shuffled after each round.

Nate Hill was an absolute beast on Ziggs, especially with the use of the champion’s ultimate ability, Mega Inferno Bomb. He pulled off a double kill against Rick Fox’s Ashe and Cesaro’s Tryndamere, preventing the duo from destroying the Nexus.

Nate Hill also won all three matches without dying using what we assume to be his main champion, Ziggs.

After playing all the matches, Nate Hill was hailed as the League of Legends: Wild Rift Invitational MVP. His likeness will be carved into a 10-foot statue of a Wild Rift turret and will be displayed at the Riot Campus in Los Angeles, California.

“This has been super fun,” said Nate Hill. “Once I got the double kill by the Nexus, it’s just been insane since then.”

“I’m not a big League player but after playing this game I had a ton of fun. I’m definitely gonna get it when it comes out.”
