Valorant superstar Tyson “TenZ” Ngo shared that Thai squad X10 Esports is the team that has surprised him the most at the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 2 Masters competition. Sentinels TenZ was thoroughly impressed by the Southeast Asian representatives.

After beating Fnatic, Sentinels TenZ explained in the post-game press conference that X10 Esports is the team he’s looking out for in the lower bracket, despite X10 losing to Team Vikings on Day 2.

“So I was actually surprised with X10 Esports’ performance. I predicted that Team Vikings would stomp X10 before their match. But X10 showed that they’re playing at a really high level,” said TenZ.

Sentinels TenZ thought that X10 Esports had some unfortunate mistakes that caused them to lose crucial rounds against Team Vikings. “I think if X10 Esports held through there, they would have 2-0’d Team Vikings, which would have been really surprising because both maps were really close. I’d say the team to look out for is X10 Esports,” explained TenZ.

X10 Esports played two close games against Team Vikings. On Icebox, they were just one round away from forcing overtime with an 11-13 final score. In the following game on Ascent, the Thai squad did force overtime but weren’t able to even the series after losing the final two rounds.

The Southeast Asian representatives made minor mistakes that could have earned them the round win. Playing in their first-ever international Valorant tournament, X10 Esports felt the pressure and didn’t utilize their agent abilities as best they could.

Looking ahead to VCT Stage 2 Masters Day 3

Interestingly enough, Sentinels and Team Vikings are now set to face each other in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Sentinels TenZ believed that Team Vikings were one of the dark horse teams in the tournament. Sentinels will face Team Vikings on May 27 at 4:30 a.m. GMT+8.

Meanwhile, X10 Esports will face Japanese representatives Crazy Raccoon in a Lower Bracket elimination match to start Day 3. The match will take place on May 26 at 11:00 p.m. GMT+8.
