Since TenZ’s move over to Sentinels from Cloud9, we’ve been waiting to see what would happen if TenZ had to face his old team. It finally happened during the grand final of the VCT NA Stage 2: Challengers 2 Playoffs, with TenZ and Sentinels winning the series with a 3-0 score.

Cloud9’s Valorant team C9 Blue had yet to lose a map for Stage 2 Challengers until this series.

Sentinels had a dominant round on the first map Bind, and were able to keep up with all the shenanigans that C9 Blue threw their way. While C9 came close on the second map Haven, Sentinels outplayed them in the end.

C9 had a better start on defense on the final map Split, even with a couple of flawless rounds. Poiz and Mitch conquered several rounds for C9, with Mitch even scoring an ace.

And while TenZ got the spotlight with a few plays, it was Sick who became the star of the show, especially with a clutch defuse on Split.

Though C9 held strong and was able to bring Sentinels to overtime on Split, Sentinels won the series with a 3-0 score.

There doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings with the loss, as Cloud9 congratulated TenZ on the win, calling him both an amazing player but also joked that he’s a terrible imposter.

Sentinels and Cloud9 could face off against each other once again, as both teams will next be competing at the Champions Tour North America Stage 2: Challengers Finals. The top 2 teams from the Finals will represent North America in Masters Reykjavik, scheduled for May 24 – 31, 2021.
