Tekken 8 Story Mode, The Dark Awakens, is probably one of the best features of the game and the most engaging story-telling the fighting game community (FGC) has seen in a long time.

What makes this story mode interesting, aside from the amazing elements that were put together to make it spectacular, is the existence of a Tekken 8 alternate ending.

As disclosed by Bandai Namco Game Director Katsuhiro Harada in a recent tweet, a significant number of players are not aware that such ending exists.

This Tekken 8 alternate ending can be unlocked by performing specific actions during the game’s final battle.

The good thing about the game’s Story Mode is that you can skip to any chapter once you’ve completed it. This means you no longer have to do an entire playthrough just to get the alternate ending.

Jump to Chapter 15 and fight Kazuya until you reach the final phase of the battle, which you would know once you hear the game’s opening theme, Our Time is Now, play in the background.

At this point, you will encounter some quick-time events (QTE) that will trigger a series of anime-style flashbacks.

Keep beating Kazuya up until you reach the QTE that says “I will not deny my existence,” which will be followed by a flashback showing Devil Jin, Jun, and Xiaoyu.

After this, the match will continue and you will have to let Kazuya win.

Losing this part of the battle is almost quite impossible since Jin tends to perform counter-attacks automatically even if you don’t press anything.

To make sure Jin doesn’t auto-parry, keep on ki charging (1+2+3+4) to incur counter-hit damage from Kazuya’s attacks.

After your health bar is depleted for the first time, Jin’s health will be replenished and will put him in Rage Mode. Keep on ki charging to receive damage.

Once your last ounce of health is gone, a cutscene will commence. Kazuya wins the battle and just like a true Mishima, he will throw Jin’s lifeless body over the cliff.

Kazuya will then be shown sitting in his office, declaring his intention to continue his pursuit in taking over the world even without his Devil Gene powers.
