COVID-19 has impacted the esports scene in Indonesia, and tournaments such as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia were forced to hold most of their matches online to ensure the safety of its players and fans since 2020.

After four seasons, MPL ID Season 9 will now be fully held offline and open to the public, according to Moonton.

There will be three exciting changes in the tournament, according to Public Relations and Communications Manager of Esports Moonton Indonesia Azwin Nugraha, namely that MPL ID Season 9 will be held offline, will be open to the public, and will be available for viewing at every Cinépolis cinema.

The threat of COVID-19 is still prevalent in Indonesia, but Nugraha assured fans that a COVID task force and civil service police units will be deployed at the venue to maintain the necessary precautions, in accordance with national guidelines.

“We do all these things by complying with the regulations from the government and tightening the health protocols,” Nugraha said.
