Senna experienced a turbulent Season 12. She was one of the top tier marksmen in Summer 2022 , then Riot Games decided to nerf her three consecutive updates in a row in League of Legends patch 12.10, 12.11, and 12.12.

By the time Worlds 2022 came around, she was effectively out of the meta. During the tournament she was picked just three times, all of which resulted in defeat.

This year in Season 13, she has only been picked once by Excel’s Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé, which again resulted in defeat.

League of Legends patch 13.4 aims to change all that. “Senna has fallen behind in terms of strength and popularity lately and, on top of that, her core items are receiving nerfs this patch,” Riot Games wrote in their patch notes.

This series of buffs aims to compensate for these changes — enough to convince analyst and content creator Nick “LS” De Cesare that she’ll be overpowered.

Base Stats

  • Attack Ratio (Attack Speed per 100% bonus Attack Speed) increased from 0.30 to 0.40

R – Dawning Shadow

  • Physical Damage increased from 250/375/500 (+100% bonus AD) (+70% AP) to 250/400/550 (+115% bonus AD) (+70% AP)
  • Cooldown decreased from 160/140/120 seconds to 140/120/100 seconds

Her ultimate, Dawning Shadow, now has extra base physical damage as well as an increased 15% bonus AD scaling ratio. What’s more, its cooldown has been decreased significantly by 20 seconds at all ranks.

Even before this patch, LS already believes that Senna and her champion combos are “massively broken.” Described as a “forgotten” champion, pro players might have been underestimating her power all this while in favor of Nami-Lucian and Zeri-Lulu.

In solo queue, her win rate as a support marksman in Platinum rank and above was 51.4% on patch 13.3, and it has already risen to 53.7% based off 5,000 matches played over the last two days according to statistics from Mobalytics at the time of writing.

In pro play, we can expect Senna bot combos to return, where she’s frequently paired with Karthus, Sona, Seraphine, Cho’Gath and more.
