Bungie has finally introduced a new vehicle in Destiny 2 called the skimmer. This exotic vehicle is actually an uber-cool hoverboard, which players can use to perform air tricks or grind rails through the many vibrant planets of Destiny 2.
Lightfall players may recall Cloud Striders, such as Rohan, using hoverboards to traverse Neomuna. Thankfully, with the addition of skimmers, players can now do that as well. In this guide, we explain how to get a skimmer hoverboard in Destiny 2.
How to unlock the skimmer hoverboard in Destiny 2 quick
Players can get the skimmer hoverboard in Destiny 2 by completing this year’s Guardian Games All-Stars “Drop In” event quest. They can pick up the quest from Eva Levante at the Tower. Currently, there are two variants of the skimmers available in Destiny 2. These are Allstar Vector (regular) and Allstar Vector (exotic).
The regular variant can be unlocked by completing the introductory event quest. To get the Allstar Vector exotic skimmer, however, players will have to complete one of the following objectives:
- Medallion Score – 1,200
- Earn a top 10% score in Nightfall challenges
- Open your Focus Activity winners package three times
Upon unlocking the skimmer, players can equip it in the vehicle slot of their character. The skimmer occupies the same slot as sparrows, so players can only use one at a time.
For those who don’t like the look of Allstar Vector, fret not. There’s also a paid version of skimmer in the eververse store inspired by the iconic Gjallahorn rocket launcher. It’s called Winged Wolf and it’s part of the Gjallarheart gear bundle.
Skimmer might be the highlight of this year’s Guardian Games, but it’s not the only reward players can unlock during this event. Both standard and upgraded event card has a ton of items on display, which also includes the brand-new Hullabaloo grenade launcher.
