After increasing pressure from the Fortnite community, Epic Games has announced that it will be nerfing the spawn rates on the highly unpopular B.R.U.T.E. mechs in competitive play.

In Arena and Tournament playlists, there will now only be a 21.5% chance that between one to three B.R.U.T.E.s will spawn at the start of the map — previously, it was a 100% chance for between two to four B.R.U.T.E.s.

Epic has also drastically lowered the mech’s spawn rates during the first Storm Circle, and this continues all the way to the very last Storm Circle.

The B.R.U.T.E. mech was added in Fortnite’s Season 10, and players have already declared it to be insanely overpowered due to its high-damage and superior mobility.

Popular streamers, including Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar, Benjamin “Dr. Lupo” Lupo, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins have even threatened to switch to other games unless something is done about the B.R.U.T.E.

Epic Games has also stated, “We will continue to monitor the impact of this change in advance of next weekend’s Champion Series event.”
