Apex Legends death-matches? It’s a definite possibility.

Over at the Apex Legends subreddit, redditors have been asking if updates were coming to Apex, and Respawn’s community managers obliged.

“At EA PLAY in June, we will give you the first details on what you can expect from Season 2,” said Jay “Jayfresh” Frechette, Respawn’s community manager in an official reddit update post last Friday.

While it may be a month out before Apex players see new content, Jayfresh did promise that a few good things will be coming — a new battle pass with more “meaningful content”, new guns as well as a new champion. As to whether if there would be new game modes, Jayfresh would only reply with a simple “yes”.

The community manager also hinted at changes to the current maps, perhaps adding new areas or changing the the environment to make gameplay more interesting.

Respawn developer Drew “dko5” Mcoy also added the game was designed with a “long-term core competitive identity to master over time as opposed to short-term novelty”.

Released on February 4, Apex Legends hit the Battle Royale scene with a flying start, giving Fortnite a run for its money as the most popular BR game. Unfortunately, interest started dipping as Apex Legends developers failed to match Fortnite’s rapid content updates.

This includes everything from skins, weapons, vehicles, to even game modes. While the game has only been out for two months, people are already getting bored of the game.

So far, Respawn has only released one new champion, Octane, and one new gun, the Havoc Rifle. Although Apex Legends still runs strong as a unique battle royale game, it’s currently definitely sparse on content.
