Is Gojo dead or alive after Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261?

Gojo was able to revive himself using the reverse cursed technique after he lost to Toji Fushiguro during the Hidden Inventory episodes of the anime and the Gojo’s Past arc in the manga.

However, Gojo’s defeat at Sukuna’s hands was a different story. The King of Curses, exploiting a weakness in Gojo’s Limitless technique with Mahoraga’s help, cut him in two.

Despite what seemed like the end, Gojo made a shocking reappearance in chapters 260 and 261.

Jujutsu High, anticipating the possibility of Gojo’s defeat, had a contingency plan. They arranged for Yuta Okkotsu to inherit Kenjaku’s cursed technique, enabling him to take over deceased bodies.

After Mei Mei’s younger brother Ui Ui retrieved Gojo’s remains, Shoko Ieiri’s medical team did everything possible to prepare the body.

Okkotsu, having previously discussed the plan with Gojo, who had no objections, would then inhabit Gojo’s body and continue the fight against Sukuna.

In essence, Gojo is indeed dead. However, Okkotsu now inhabits Gojo’s body to carry on the fight against Sukuna.
