The Valorant action is ramping up in the EMEA region. The VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Main Event kicks off this weekend as the top teams from the region test their skills against one another and compete for a spot at the next Masters event.

The top 10 teams from Stage 1 are returning to the EMEA group stage, in addition to FOKUS and BIG, the top two teams from the VCT EMEA Challengers Promotion tournament.

Six teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete for the three spots at the next international Valorant LAN.

VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers is the second and final competition of the 2022 season for teams based in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The competition consists of four phases: the new Valorant Regional League (VRL), the EMEA Challengers Promotion, the regular season, and the playoffs.

Unlike VCT NA which relies on open qualifiers, new teams hoping for a spot in the EMEA Main Event will have to first win their respective VRL and the Challengers Promotion tournament.

The VRL system is unique to the EMEA region, with Spain, France, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, MENA, Turkey, and DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) hosting their own tournaments.

The winners of each VRL tournament advanced to the VCT EMEA Challengers Promotion tournament, where they were joined by BIG and SuperMassive Blaze, two teams that tied for 11th to 12th place in VCT EMEA Stage 1 Challengers.

The top two teams from the VCT EMEA Challengers Promotion tournament, FOKUS and BIG, then qualified for VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers.

Stage 2 Challengers features the best teams from Europe, the CIS, and Turkey, all competing to qualify for the second international Masters event of the year, in addition to crucial VCT circuit points that will help them net a spot at the Valorant Champions event at the end of 2022.

To determine the groups for VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers, the 12 teams were separated into two pools, comprising Stage 1 playoff teams in Pool 1 and Stage 1 teams that fell in the Stage 1 group stage in Pool 2.

Teams were then randomly drawn from one pool at a time, starting with Pool 1, followed by Pool 2. Drawn teams were placed into groups in alternating order until the groups were filled.
