G2 Esports proved once again that they are the best Valorant squad in Europe after winning another Ignition Series competition in the Vitality European Open.

During the tournament, G2 Esports’ lineup featured three newly signed players: Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowsk, and Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks. The trio joined G2’s stacked Valorant squad after competing in the organizations’ own Ignition Series tournament.

G2 dominated the competition leading up to the Grand Final, and was awarded the first game in their best-of-three series against Prodigy thanks to their Upper Bracket advantage.

After losing Game 2 against Prodigy on Haven, G2 reset and proved to be the better team in the last two games of the Grand Final. Former Fish123 player, ardiis, together with Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho, decided to run a double Operator setup that gave G2 the early man-advantage in most of the rounds.

Mixwell also played hyper-aggressive with Jett, pushing into Prodigy’s side of the map to open up multiple attack angles for G2 to exploit.

Meanwhile, the one member of G2’s lineup who has yet to join the squad, David “davidp” Prins, capitalized on a perplexed Prodigy squad during the second pistol round in Ascent by securing a stylish ace. G2 won Game 3 on Ascent, 13-4.

In the final game of the series, G2 took a commanding 11-4 lead on Split. Prodigy answered back by winning four-straight rounds to keep the match interesting, but Mixwell shut the door on a potential comeback by clutching out the 20th round.

G2 finished the tournament by stopping an A-site push from Prodigy to win their second-straight Valorant Ignition Series tournament in Europe.
